Saria Zakhia is a Lebanese journalist, reporter, and presenter with a deep passion for media, war reporting, and civic engagement.
She graduated from high school in 2015 and pursued a degree in Journalism at the Arts, Sciences, and Technology University in Lebanon.
Her dedication to media and broadcasting led her to enhance her skills through specialized workshops at Sawt El Noujoum with Mr. Tony Sassi and
at Cherry Studios with Mr. Antoine Kassabian and Mr. Ali Chkeir.
Saria’s career in journalism includes working as a presenter on Mariam TV (Tele Lumiere) in 2022, where she hosted her own program, PowerWoman.
Since November 2022, she has been a reporter at Tele Liban, later expanding her role to include presenting in 2023. More recently,
she joined Le Journal on Tele Liban as a reporter and editor.
Alongside her journalism career, Saria is also an educator, teaching History, Geography, and Civics at Rosary School in Amchit.
Beyond her professional endeavors, she has been actively involved in civic and humanitarian work. She has been a member of Scouts du Liban
for 16 years and volunteered with the National Volunteer Service Program (NVSP), a World Bank-supported initiative aimed at ending extreme
poverty and promoting shared prosperity. Following the Beirut Port explosion on August 4, 2020, she volunteered with Ground Zero Association
to help rebuild the devastated areas.
Her commitment to leadership and global affairs is reflected in her participation in Young Leaders XXIX, organized by the Robert Schuman
Institute in collaboration with Eduardo Frei Foundation, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, and CDA. Through this program, she engaged in high-level
discussions on European Values and Democratic Principles, Economic and Social Challenges in Europe, and Security and International Relations.
In 2024, Saria took part in an advanced Fact-Checking Training Program, supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in
partnership with Agence France-Presse (AFP) and funded by the German government through the German Development Bank (KfW).
Driven by a strong belief in a better Lebanon, Saria envisions a future where young leaders work toward a prosperous nation that guarantees
the fundamental rights and needs of its people. With an unyielding passion for war reporting, she is determined to cover conflicts from all
angles, shedding light on untold stories and ensuring that the truth reaches the world.
Saria’s journey in journalism, education, and humanitarian work continues to inspire and shape the future of Lebanese media.
